i have no idea what to write here but it's making me write something.

-------------- make sure when posting or creating a topic that you un-check "Notify me when a reply is posted" before you send it in, otherwise you'll get an email anytime someone posts. which is fucking annoying. i'll try to fix it so it is already un-checked but for now you gotta do that.

    Audacity Empty Audacity

Post by tristanisneat Tue May 12, 2009 10:33 pm

We should probably all agree on a specific version of Audacity to use. I'm pretty sure the newer beta version isn't backwards compatible with the "current" version, at least not all the time. Besides, I can't tell if the current Windows and Mac versions are the same.

I've had no problems with the Beta version, and it seems a little nicer, so unless anyone has any qualms about it, I'd suggest we all use version 1.3.7.

The Windows version is here, the Mac version here.

Hopefully the Mac and Windows versions play nicely together. I think they should.

This thread could also be used for any questions regarding Audacity, if/when they arise as well.

alright, ive always used GarageBand as my stand-by, so i have to accustom myself with Audacity a little bit. i'll take tonight to read up on it and mess around with it a little bit and should be ready to go by the time we're ready to record.

To be honest, I plan on recording in Cubase, then exporting the single bass track and importing it to the Audacity project.

If you can export as .wav from Garageband, I'm almost certain it would. I don't know if Audacity knows how to deal with .aif files though. Hopefully it does.
